Sir Richard Arkwright's showpiece Masson Mills on the river Derwent at Matlock Bath, Derbyshire are recognised as the finest and best preserved example of one of Arkwright's mills and the best surviving example of an eighteenth century cotton mill.
They now house a shopping village and Working Textile Museum where visitors can experience a genuine atmosphere of the mills by stepping back in time to see authentic historic textile machinery spinning yarn and weaving cloth.
Machinery demonstrations: Monday-Saturday at 11am and 2pm, Sunday at 12noon and 2pm.
